Radround® Series Quartz Cylindrical Electric Infrared Heaters
If your wire, cable, fiber optic or tubing processing operations require intense, precisely controlled heat, you'll appreciate Glenro's Radround® infrared heaters. Radround® heaters completely surround the product with heat for efficient and uniform radiation heat transfer. You can speed up process lines without sacrificing product quality because high heat transfer rates minimize dwell times. The heaters can be mounted end to end horizontally, as well as vertically to accommodate the available space of a process line.
Standard Radround® infrared heater designs are medium wave emitters and use a quartz cylinder combined with a resistive metal heating element. As the quartz cylinder gets hot, it becomes a secondary emitter of infrared energy. Product passing through the infrared heater receives uniform heat from all directions, and any heat not transferred to the product is reabsorbed by the quartz cylinder. That keeps energy consumption low, and energy efficiency high.
Radround® infrared heaters come in three standard designs:
Specialty cylindrical infrared heater designs are also available:
Series 40
Series 40 Heater pictured with a Glenro Control System. The heater comes standard with an embedded thermocouple to control the operating temperature of the heating element. A probe port is also illustrated for use with an air temperature thermocouple to monitor the internal cavity temperature of the heater while in operation.

Short Wave (T-3)
This heater design includes four short wave emitters with elliptical reflectors to direct the intense radiation at the centerline of the chamber. The heater requires air cooling or water cooling, depending on the design and production use.
Some applications demand an improved response time and the intensity of short wave infrared energy, as compared to the standard family of Radround® heaters; like curing small diameter medical tubing. If you sense your application may fit this style heater, please contact us to put it to work and then marvel at its performance.

Large Diameter & Open Element
There are no limits to our design capabilities with respect to the cylindrical family of infrared heaters. Glenro has designed and manufactured large diameter heaters for larger profile products, as well as rapid response open element designs for heat sensitive products and applications. The two enclosed heater illustrations serve as representative examples of these capabilities.
